General Manager — Cloud Platforms

Econet Wireless Zimbabwe is recruiting a General Manager — Cloud Platforms to develop and execute the Private/Hybrid Cloud strategy and lead the implementation of Google Distributed Cloud. Econet strongly encourages specially abled candidates to apply.

• Develop and execute Econet's Private/Hybrid Cloud strategy and roadmap.
• Lead end-to-end implementation of the Private Cloud platform using Google Distributed Cloud.
• Integrate Google Distributed Cloud with Google Cloud Platform.
• Lead migration of mission-critical applications across the Group.
• Develop and commercialise Enterprise Cloud services including IaaS, PaaS, DRaaS, Managed Cloud and AI Cloud.
• Take accountability for Enterprise Cloud revenue and profitability.

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related technical discipline.
• Relevant postgraduate or MBA is desirable.
• Google Professional Cloud Architect/Engineer certification is preferred.
• At least 10 years' experience including Private Cloud strategy and implementation.
• Experience with VMware VCF/Tanzu, OpenShift, OpenStack, Nutanix or Google Distributed Cloud.
• Strong understanding of Kubernetes, networking, storage, IAM, cybersecurity and disaster recovery.
• Experience in telecoms, banking, financial services or mission-critical environments.
